Sign in and supplies will be at Overbrook and High St (Rain Garden); Overbrook and Canyon ; Overbrook and Yaronia.
A THANK YOU to our “clean up the ramps ” team that worked through the summer and to all of you who consistently pick up litter while out walking. THANK YOU to our Lead Team group that welcomed all to our booth at the Arbor Festival at Whetstone Park, inviting others to join us in our goals of a clean, healthy ravine. An educational note to those of you who have been working to rid the invasive Honeysuckle, the City can no longer pick up our large piles of cuttings. Instead, they encourage using that debris to build “honeysuckle habitats” within the ravine. More information regarding the “how to’s ” is available via the Adena Brook Lead Team.

Columbus Garden School – Prairie Seed Collecting
Sunday, September 21 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Columbus Garden School, 1350 E Cooke Rd, Columbus, OH 43224, USA
Our 5th Annual Seed Collection Event
We’re Back for Year Five — and Growing Stronger!
We started growing our first 4-packs of prairie plants during winter of 2018. By the end of summer 2019, CGS had the bones of an amazing native garden filled with wildflowers and grasses. We waited another year to let everything grow strong and begin creating their progeny: SEEDS!
The growth of our meadow/prairie plants over the past several years has been astonishing. Coneflowers, asters, and wild quinine have spread throughout the beds. Native grasses grow from 6 inches to over 6 feet tall each year. Milkweed and beebalm throw raucous parties.
Some of the plants you can harvest include coneflowers, asters, boneset, milkweed, Joe Pye weed, beebalm, and penstemon. Native grasses include little and big bluestem, side oats grama grass, yellow (Indian) grass, and switch grass. We have too…
